Pacific Affairs is a peer-reviewed, independent and interdisciplinary scholarly journal focussing on current political, economic and social issues throughout Asia and the Pacific. Each issue of the journal contains up to 6 articles, usually from 9-11,000 words per article. Once a year we aim to publish a special issue on a contemporary topic touching on one or more countries in the Asia Pacific. In addition, we publish review essays of 3-4,000 words commenting on recent publications which are of exceptional interest and invite further speculation. Each issue also contains 40-50 detailed critical reviews of current books and the occasional documentary film. Most of the important English-language books relevant to contemporary Asia and the Pacific are reviewed by experts, by invitation. No other publication in the world provides such a thorough, up-to-date overview. The book review section is considered of major importance to our readership. Published continuously since 1928, Pacific Affairs attracts readers throughout the world, and is listed in the SSCI, SCOPUS, and other major indexes.
